When I'm outside running and walking during this stressful time of self-quarantine and social distancing of at least six feet apart, I'm joyfully astounded at the mutual smiles and even brief pleasantries I exchange with everyone. This happens rarely in normal times.  Maybe we really are social animals who have lost our way. I pray when we return to normal times, the new normal for all of us will be coming from love, caring, and social interaction.

In this prodigious period of pandemic, we are all catapulted into an environment none of us have ever experienced. Many of us have behaved in ways that reveal our dark sides. Many of us have connected with their compassionate side and helped total strangers in need. All of us are now spending time with our families and significant others more than we ever have. We need to make the best of that time.

A good sign is families are venturing out together to get fresh and virus-free air for exercise and meet essential needs. But most of our time will be spent with our dear ones in mandatory or self-imposed quarantine. I think this a terrific opportunity for each of us to learn to love all creation. I have been working on being this way for many years and have written a Thriller and Magical Realism Fantasies. These fictional stories focus on ways all people, even those on the dark side, can discover love and act on it. By coming from love, we improve ourselves, our families, and the world.

Then James ran into his nemesis, Mathias, in Oak Village’s football game against Modesto. He agonized over whether to break his vow and play dirty football in the game he loves. In the end, he quit football and joined the cross-country team. Today we'll follow James, Tim, and Denny as struggle to make a difference in a cross country race. Then we'll be with the family as they come under an evil magician attack.
